June 10th was a day at Sea. Lots of activities. One of them being the Park West Art Auction. I had gone to one several years ago but did not buy anything as I did not know how Art auctions worked. This time I learned and we made a couple of purchases. The Artwork that we liked was created by Anatoly Metlan and Csaba Markus, but there were loads of other art work to choose from, Max and even Picasso & Rembrandt.
In Greece we decided to do a Self-Guided tour of Athens, which means, we booked a bus the Cruise Line supplied, and were dropped off so we could wonder around and see the sites on our own. Sometimes this is nice to do. Greece is highly populated so traffic is highly congested. Tour groups can make you feel rushed at times. This is also cheaper. You are able to purchase for as little as 2 Euro's a guide book to assist you. It was a lot of climbing to the top of the hill with multiple stairs and very little shade. Be sure to bring water and a hat or umbrella on such a trip. The huge in-tack ruins and the breath-taking views of Greece from the top were worth the climb and all the sweating we did getting there. Once down the hill, there are lots of tourists shops and Artists lining the streets. We bought one piece of Art work on canvas for a mere 10 Euro's. Great cost savings to buy directly from the Artist.
Back on the Cruise Ship we enjoyed one of the nightly live shows, swimming in the onboard pool, live music and great food.
