In my previous blog posts you have all heard about my husband and his health situation. Well, now that he is on the mend, I thought I would introduce to you the other two very spoiled little sweethearts in my life. There is, RaggleMuffin, a miniature poodle/shitzu cross and Chester my little Tri-Colour Pomeranian.
I admit it, I am a dog lover, and these little guys give me a lot of love in return. They are very small dogs, commonly referred to, by many, as "ankle bitters". They go with me where ever I go and are always by my side. My husband says they are my little shadows. RaggleMuffin is extremely cuddly and Chester is younger and more playful and full of energy. They are quite the pair.
So when I started suggesting to Neil that we should get another puppy, he firmly said NO! For some reason he feels two is enough. I would love to run a dog kennel, but do not own property that would allow for that. Anyways, I think our family would be complete if there were one more. After helping to put together Neil's big birthday party, then coming back up North to work to help assure our vacation to Europe, as well as going through his time of illness, I figured I deserved a little something for myself .
Neil finally gave in. Of course he says they are all my dogs, not his, but he says that while he is sitting holding one of them in his arms rubbing his little belly. The dog laid back, eyes closed and is in doggy heaven of course. The one stipulation I was given, was that I had to wait until after our return from our vacation before getting this new puppy. I let him know this would be no problem at all, since the mother dog is not due to go into heat until August. This means I cannot get a puppy until October anyways. My name, is first on the waiting list for a little boy puppy when they arrive. It is another Pomeranian from the same breeder that I got Chester from. Same mother but a different father this time. Her puppies are very well cared for and are so sociable with people. When I get a picture of the new little one I will share it with you. Until then I have attached a picture of my other two.
Did I tell you? Two months ago I put in my resignation from my job and have applied for my pension. My last day of work is May 17th. WooHoo!!! I am very excited. Time to move onto a new adventure. I will most likely work part-time at a local job in Fort Simpson when we return from Europe, but I want to concentrate on my Children's books and marketing them more so. This blog has been a good first step. Next, I plan to set up something on Facebook and then want to work on having my own Website. So much to do. Who ever said Retirement was boring? I can always find things to do.
Anyone have any suggestions as to setting up a Website or ideas on how to market my books? Remember these are classified as Children's picture books for ages 7 and under. I would love some advice from an experienced Author or Publisher.
I'll be back again tomorrow....Tori, Chester & RaggleMuffin.
