I wanted to tell you how fantastic I think you all are. My project, that I call "Read it, enjoy it, and then pass it along" is doing very well. I have offered to mail out, at no charge, 10 of my children's books that will be out in print by the end of June. Plus when I travel with my husband to Europe next month we plan to make a few friends on our journey and hope a couple of them will want to be apart of the project as well. So far my book is going to a family in Japan, England, Belize, Africa, Barbados, and Germany. I am still looking to share 4 more copies. I see I have several viewers from Russia. If you are interested in receiving one of my books, please email me as I would love to hear from you. Email: Author@Tori-Books.com
I never knew how hard it was going to be, to be a self-published Author. Lots and lots of work if you are serious about it. Which I am. There's ton's of research, finding the right illustrator, working with a good publishing company that will guide you through the process, then comes all the homework. Marketing is the most important thing and only you, the Author, can do this. There's doing a Blog, setting up a Webpage, Facebook, Email, and more. There is so much information out there to sort through that it is mind boggling. It's a full time job or it can be. I have to tell you that I am enjoying every minute of what I am doing. I have not even scratched the surface yet with all that I can and should be doing. Going to Literary conferences, doing book readings, and book signing and interviews. My first thought was to get a few of the books out to families so children could immediately start enjoying my stories while enriching their lives through imagination. After all, I created the books for the children. My books are geared for children ages 7 and under.
Last night I finished my Business Cards and tomorrow I have a meeting with a local book store and a friend who works on a committee with a group I hope to eventually raise funds for from the sale of my books. It is going to be a great challenge for me to accomplish all that I hope to do. I just have to put on my SuperWoman cape and go at it, lol. With all of you encouraging me by following my blog and hopefully soon checking out my Website, I know I can do it. Thank you for all of your support.
Below are a couple of the illustrations from my upcoming book. The
pictures are by my illustrator: Christina Schofield. They are from the book I am sharing in the project, "Read it, enjoy it, and then pass it along." The book is actually entitled, "Why Is There A Raisin In My Meatloaf?"
Please respect that these images are copyrighted and no copies are permitted to be made or used without the direct consent of the Author, myself. Thank you.
